Beauty and the Beast Ballet Auditions

Audition to join the cast of our brand new classical ballet adaptation of Beauty and the Beast! The Central New York Academy Of Dance is proudly presenting this spring ballet premiere at the Capitol Theatre in Rome, NY the weekend of April 4-7 of 2024, and we're offering open auditions on Sunday, January 7th to all local dancers ages 7 - 21 years old. All dancers interested in participating in this performance must audition, and all auditioning dancers will be guaranteed to be cast in at least one role.

This audition is open to CNYAOD performance track dancers (enrolled in ballet for Level 1 dancers, enrolled in ballet and at least one other style for Level 2-4 dancers) and outside local dancers with at least one year of ballet experience and who are currently enrolled in ballet and at least one other style of dance. College-aged dancers are also welcome to audition with our Level 4 group, up to and through age 21, with prior experience in ballet and at least one other dance style.

Audition times by age group are as follows:

Level 1 (2nd - 3rd grade) - 12:00 - 12:45 pm

Level 2 (4th grade) - 1:00 - 1:45 pm

Level 3 (5-7th grade) - 2:00 - 3:15 pm

Level 4 (8th grade - age 21) - 3:30 - 5 pm

Dancers should wear a leotard and tights, skirt optional, with hair pulled back in a bun. Level 3 and 4 dancers should also bring pointe shoes if on pointe. We are so excited to embark on the creation of this brand new ballet with you!
