Preschool & Primary Dance Education
Little ones hold such a special place in our hearts at CNYAOD, and we've developed a robust program based in American Ballet Theatre's world-renowned National Training Curriculum to best fit each development stage of the early years of dance study:
Preschool/Primary Programming

Parent & Me
Toddler Class - age 2
Designed for our littlest dancers and their adult, this class focuses on expressive movement, coordination skills and fine/gross motor development while fostering social interaction and an introduction to a classroom setting.
Preschool Pre-Ballet - age 3
A continued focus in developing creative expression, social skills and musicality alongside the building blocks of ballet positions/steps and a classroom structure.

--Includes performance in our annual recital production in spring 2027

Preschool Dance Foundations - age 4
Our signature preschool program including the fundamentals of ballet and tap instruction, with a continued focus on the development of creative expression, social skills and a classroom structure.
--Fall 2026 Schedule: Class on Mondays or Tuesdays from 4:15-5 pm
--Includes performance in our annual recital production in spring 2027 and option to perform in Beauty and the Beast in winter 2027

Primary Dance Education - Kindergarten, ages 5-6
Our Primary Dance Foundations program expands the technique basics of ballet and tap for foundational training. At this level dancers solidify their knowledge of movement coordination, vocabulary and musicality while still being encouraged to explore their creativity each week in new ways!
--Fall 2026 Schedule: Class on Mondays 5-5:45 or Thursdays 4:15-5 pm
--Includes performance in our annual recital production in spring 2027 and option to perform in Beauty and the Beast in winter 2027
